Who we are

Flex Academy began when our traditional, campus school – Heritage Christian School – closed in 2023. Heritage Christian School had been a Christian school in Kelowna since 1986 when it began with 50 students. For almost 40 years, Heritage Christian School has partnered with families in Kelowna to support children in their spiritual and academic journeys.

In 2022, the HCOS team began thinking about what could be possible if we were to combine the best of in-person, campus learning and the best of online learning. We are excited about the future of education and our part in it.

We value creating individualized learning plans for every student that are designed to provide a flexible and tailored education, empowering and supporting parents as we partner with them. Teaching Positions

Our teachers are face-to-face with students on our Kelowna campus. We empower our teachers with digital tools which allow us the ability to personalize student learning and free teachers and students to engage in deeper experiential learning and meaningful relationships.

Learning Coaches

Learning Coaches are key to our students’ success. Assigned to small groups of students, learning coaches support student learning, help them stay on track, and create a safe and creative space within which to learn about the world.
